IF you’re planning to invest in overseas property, then as we all know, location, location, location is paramount and New Century Homes’ developments are certainly in some stunning areas.
These include traditional Cretan villages such as: Dramia, Lake Kournas and Exopolis in the Georgioupolis region; Vamos, Gavalohori, Almirida and Kalives on the Apokoronas peninsular; Stavros and Horafakia on the Akrotiri and Tavronitis, Vouves and Falassarna to the west of the historic Venitian harbour town of Chania.

Many villas and developments have excellent sea and White Mountain views and are within easy access of beaches. Just as important, almost all properties are within easy reach of local tavernas and amenities and all are within a reasonable distance of Chania International Airport.

Almirida

Almirida is 20km east of Chania and is a small coastal village situated on the bay of Souda one of the biggest natural harbours in the Mediterranean. With a shallow sandy beach it is perfect for children plus the village features a good selection of beachfront tavernas and bars.

Chania

Chania is the capital of western Crete and is located 14km west of the airport. At the heart of the town is the harbour which is home to more than 50 bars and restaurants all over looking the bay. Built by the Ventians, this historical town now has a population of more than 50,000 people.

Kalives

Kalives is a small fishing town east of Chania and is sheltered on a shallow bay and surrounded by green rolling hills. It has a large choice of tavernas, bars and shops plus a glorious golden sandy beach.

Kissamos

Kissamos is a coastal town with a population of 15,000 and although it is the second largest in western Crete it is the least developed for tourism. Rolling hills of olive groves lead down to white sandy beaches. The small harbour provides freshly caught fish for the local restaurants and tavernas and also has ferry links to some of the smaller outlying islands.

Platanias

Heading west from Chania, Platanias is a town with a real holiday spirit. Bars and restaurants line the busy beaches and watersports abound. The town looks down from above enjoying fantastic views of the coastline and beyond.

Tavronitis Village

Tavronitis is a small and peaceful beach side village with panoramic views along the coast to Chania. The pace of life here can be best described as ‘slow’. There are plenty of tavernas and bars to refresh yourself and lots of room for privacy on the sun drenched beach.

Vamos Village

Vamos is a charming traditional countryside village with fantastic views. If you’re planning to set up home in Crete, Vamos is the perfect choice having its own health centre, school, post office, banking facilities, supermarket and tavernas.
