Channel 4 Daily Mail 2006
SINCE 2005, New Century Homes has twice featured in the Daily Mail and on Channel 4 and they have even had full size replicas of two of their villas built at the prestigious Daily Mail Ideal Home Show.
In 2005, the Daily Mail searched the Mediterranean region for a property to give away in a reader competition. In particular they wanted, ’A stunning property with a swimming pool, with magnificent sea views built on a substantial plot and finished to the very highest standards’.
New Century Homes subsequently built the house - seen here - for the paper’s 2005 Win a Dream Villa competition meeting all the criteria required and satisfied one of the UK’s leading newspapers in the process. In addition a full size replica of the house was constructed at that year’s Ideal Home Show which attracted more than half a million visitors.
After the success of the first villa competition, in 2006 the Daily Mail again asked New Century Homes to provide a villa for a competition prize, which they were pleased to do and once more a full size replica of this villa was built at the 2006 Ideal Home Show.
Channel 4 made contact with New Century Homes in 2005 as they wanted to feature the company in their ‘Pay Off Your Mortgage In A Year’ programme. They followed two young families for a year and charted the construction progress of their neighbouring properties until it was time for the families to receive the keys to their new villas.
The programme also highlighted how much their properties had increased in value when it was aired during autumn 2006 and was later repeated on various UK satellite TV channels.
